My priorities for Weston’s schools
These priorities build on the work already underway and focus on delivering real results in the next term.
Deliver results that families can see in the classroom
Over the past three years—and as School Committee chair this past year—I’ve focused on turning priorities into real results for students. That work is already underway and will continue with a clear focus on follow-through, measurable outcomes, and ensuring plans translate into real progress in classrooms.
What this looks like:
A new K–5 literacy program grounded in evidence-based instruction, now being implemented in classrooms across the district
A new middle and high school schedule launching in Fall 2026 to expand opportunities for students
A district-wide strategic plan that will guide clear priorities and resource decisions
Strengthen communication and community engagement
I’ve worked to improve how the district communicates and to bring more voices into important decisions—while ensuring those decisions are made clearly and effectively. The next step is making communication more consistent, more accessible, and easier for families to follow.
What this looks like:
Clearer, more timely updates so families understand what decisions are being made and why
Parent and teacher feedback built into leadership evaluation and decision-making
Ongoing communication and engagement as we move forward with the high school/middle school campus project
Weston’s strong culture of involvement—from the PTO and WEEFC to athletics, music, and robotics—is something I’m committed to building on while continuing to move key initiatives forward.
Invest in strong schools while being responsible with taxpayer dollars
I’ve worked to ensure that Weston’s budgets support students while remaining fiscally responsible—including leading complex, high-stakes decisions that affect our educators, students, and community. I’ll continue that work with clear priorities, disciplined decision-making, and a focus on long-term sustainability.
What this looks like:
Budgets that invest in what matters most for students while maintaining financial discipline
A new high school/middle school campus plan that reflects both our town’s values—and what we can responsibly afford
Thoughtful integration of technology and AI—supporting teachers while ensuring it enhances, not distracts from, student learning
